     Dates & Price
     July 1 (eve) - July 5, 2009 - THIS CAMP IS FULL
Cost per person is $995 + GST

If you don’t have much time to get away from “real life”, this 4-day trip will allow you to get the best out of the world-renowned Wapta Icefield in a short period of time.

This hut-based camp will cater to members with minimal summer mountaineering experience or offer those looking for a refresher a chance to get back to the basics.  The First Summits Camp starts with two nights at Bow Hut, allowing access to the most popular peaks in the area such as Mounts St. Nicholas, Olive, Gordon, and Rhondda.  A traverse over to Peyto Hut for the last night opens up access to even more crowd-pleasing peaks like Mounts Baker and Thompson.

The First Summits camp is yet another annual favourite with Alpine Club of Canada members and fills up early each year.  Sign up now to avoid missing out!

Level of Difficulty

This camp is designed for those with little or no previous climbing or mountaineering experience and will help you get started or build your confidence.  You must have a good level of fitness and be able to carry up to a 16 – 18kg (35 – 40lb) pack for several hours.
