The Tonquin Valley offers unparalleled opportunities
for hikers and climbers to explore a breathtakingly beautiful area. This
is a must-see place, one of the most spectacular settings in the Rockies.
This combination climbing and hiking camp
will provide something for everyone, and give you a chance to discover
the best of the Tonquin Valley. Based
out of the comforts of the Alpine Club of Canada’s Wates-Gibson
Hut, hikers and climbers will be in the ideal location to explore this
stunning area.
Hikers will spend their days exploring the
wonders of Eremite Valley, Amethyst Lakes, Tonquin Hill, and Fraser
and Maccarib Passes. Climbers
will love the solid quartzite and glaciers. Potential climbing
ascents include Thunder Bolt, MacDonnel, Paragon, Outpost/Memorial, Angle

At the end of the day, the hikers and climbers will regroup in the comforts
