For those who have "been there, done that", we are offering an opportunity to get off the beaten path and visit the majestic Kaufmann Peaks. Located directly above the Saskatchewan River Crossing, these were once a favourite objective of the original Swiss guides.
After meeting in Lake Louise, we’ll set off up the Icefields Parkway and hike onto the ridge of Mt. Sarbach, where we’ll pitch our tents near the stunning hanging glacier below Sarbach and Kaufmann. This location will put us in perfect position for our attempts on Mount Sarbach (3155m/10351ft) and both South (3110m/10203ft) and North (3095m/10154ft) Kaufmann Peaks.
Other options in the area include White Pyramid and Mount Chephren to keep us entertained regardless of conditions. A low guide/client ratio opens up the option of more technical routes to the summits.
This camp allows you to experience all the spectacular mountainous beauty that makes the Icefields Parkway such a popular destination, while privately exploring your own quiet section of it.
Level
of Difficulty
This camp is designed for climbers with intermediate mountaineering experience, good scrambling skills, and a good level of fitness. Climbs will be alpine rock snow and ice with typical mountaineering packs each day. |
