Life Member Karl Ricker is a legend within the mountaineering community. He has volunteered countless hours to a wide variety of projects over a 60-year period. When someone wants an opinion in relation to the local mountains on the coast they often consult Karl. For the past forty years he has recorded the ice volumes on the Wedgemount and Overlord glaciers. His work career as a geologist has taken him to the Coast Mountains, the Rockies, the Arctic and Antarctica. He has explored and climbed in many mountain ranges and summitted over 500 mountains.

Karl Ricker was awarded Honorary Membership in 2016.
