    The big jobs for the camp are the Manager and Assistant Manager roles. These require that you be available for the two weeks immediately prior to your week to deal with last minute logistics. The Assistant Manager fills in for the Manager if he/she bails but also performs Manager's duties when Manager is off climbing.

    The duties for manager are outlined below.

    Manager's Duties - Before Camp
    Recruit (nag) volunteers for week specific duties
    Personally contact each participant prior to trip leaving
    Call a team meeting to review issues, meeting places, logistics, confirm roles etc.
    Coordinate car pooling
    Bring in full 20 lb. propane bottles (2)

    Manager's Duties - At Camp
    Chicken wire will be available at the staging area
    Completion of ACC waiver (obtain off the Net)
    Completion of rescue waiver (obtain credit card #’s)
    Verify emergency phone #’s
    Collect money if budget problems, Bill will let you know how much
    Fly-in logistics - staging area coordination - chopper expected around 2:00pm
    Coordinate Set-up/Take-down if 1st or last week
    Advance camp - drop off gear, first team to use the camp can set up tent, make sure it is tied down, put rocks inside
    Snow ‘course’ refresher - encourage all to review self arrest, tying in for glacier travel, setting snow/ice anchors, belaying basics
    Track protocol - use small steps for up, don’t walk on the up track on the way down
    Coordinate daily climbs from camp - use sign-up sheet
    Take Summit Register Canisters make a note of which summits have registers
    Radios are required for all trips set check in time eg odd hours starting at 11
    Monitor satellite phone usage (collect $) weather calls OK, turn on phone at 7:00pm for incoming
    Roster for daily chores eg dishes, garbage sorting, water hauling, charging radios
    Biffy - dig new one each week outgoing please identify old one, encourage use of bleach to rinse hands after each use.
    Complete daily trip log - who went where and when
    Document route information in camp route book - for future parties
    Ensure radios and satellite phone are charged
    Call incoming manager on Wed even to replace any low supplies eg fuel, coffee or TP
    Food restricted to 34 L - 10, 68 L Rubber Maid containers, id mechanism provided
    Bring out empty 20 lb. popane bottles

    In case of emergency
      (1) call Alpine Heli they will do paper work with the government, and get a rescue team,
      (2) effect the evacuation,
      (3) contact National Club and Section Chairman,
      (4) contact the emergency contact of the victim.
