Canada's national mountaineering organization, the Alpine Club of Canada, was established in 1906. Our non-profit Club is volunteer driven with over 10,000 members in 19 regional sections across Canada, the USA and around the world. The Club promotes alpine access and environmental preservation; carries out mountaineering safety and research studies; promotes mountain heritage and culture; provides winter and summer mountaineering adventure trips in Canada and abroad; and operates a Clubhouse in Canmore, Alberta, and 23 backcountry huts in the mountains of Alberta and British Columbia.
