Be sure to contact the reservations team at our national office - 403 678 3200 ext. 0 or - prior to departing for your reserved hut as combinations to the huts change throughout the year and your hut combination may have changed without notice. Please have your invoice number ready when calling or state it in your e-mail communication. Thank you, and enjoy your backcountry experience!

Bookings

Reservations are required at all ACC facilities. Reservations are made through the national office at the Canmore Clubhouse.

Below you will find the amount of time that various types of individuals and groups are able to make bookings at ACC facilities in advance of the first day of the booking.

Huts

  • ACC Members (with huts option on membership) - 1 year
  • ACC Members (no huts option) - 60 days
  • Non-members - 30 days

Clubhouse

  • Anyone may book the Clubhouse up to one year in advance.

Exclusive bookings

Almost all ACC facilities are available for exclusive bookings. Exclusive bookings are not private use permits- there may be an ACC Custodian and/or day users. Day users can make use of the facility provided that they have paid the day use fees of $5/day.

Making a reservation

To reserve most huts, just phone us at 403 678 3200 ext. 0 or e-mail us at and see what dates are available; if your schedule is flexible we can usually accommodate you. Members with the huts option on their membership can call up to one year prior to the first day of the booking. Of course, you can qualify for this booking privilege immediately by taking out an ACC membership when you phone.

Please have all the necessary information when you call, as it will make the processing of your booking much quicker. We need to know:

  • your ACC membership number (if you are a member)
  • the name or names of the hut or huts you are reserving
  • the dates you want to book
  • the number of members (and their names), non-members and children 16 and under in your party
  • a Visa or MasterCard number to pay for the booking
  • who in your party need National Park wilderness passes

Cancellations**

Below you will find the amount of time that various types of individuals and groups must give cancellation notice at ACC facilities in advance of the first day of their booking excepting Bill Putnam (Fairy Meadow) Hut (winter) and Kokanee Glacier Cabin (winter).

  • All reservations are subject to a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking regardless of booking amount.
  • Large groups (8 or more) - 30 days prior to check-in / arrival at the hut - 50% cancellation fee.
  • Small groups (7 or less) - 72 hours prior to arrival at the hut / 24 hours prior to arrival at the Canmore Clubhouse -50% cancellation fee
  • Cancellations made on the date of arrival are 100% non-refundable

Refunds will only be granted when there is a trail or road closure to the hut in effect on the day of arrival.

If we do not receive proper cancellation/change of booking notice, a penalty will apply.

We will accept cancellations left on our answering machine, provided they are within the cancellation policy.

Check-in / arrival time at all Alpine Club of Canada facilities is 2:00pm

Please give us as much cancellation notice as possible as we may be turning people away from the space you've booked.

Payments

ACC Backcountry Huts:

All hut bookings require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.

All hut bookings of $300.00 or less must be paid in full at the time of the booking by VISA or MasterCard. (20% of which is non-refundable)

Payment in full is due 60-days in advance of the booking; this payment will be processed automatically on your credit card at the national office. Alternatively, you may send us a cheque for the balance of the booking prior to the 60-day payment deadline.

Canmore Clubhouse:

Clubhouse bookings must be secured with a credit card number at the time of booking.

Groups of 7 or less can pay for the booking upon arrival at the Clubhouse

For groups of 8 or larger, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. Payment is due in full 60 days in advance of the booking; this payment will be processed automatically on your credit card at the national office. Alternatively, you may send us a cheque for the balance of the booking prior to the 60-day payment deadline.
