The Banff Centre For Mountain Culture

American Alpine Club

The American Alpine Club provides modest grants to support mountaineering endeavours, scientific research projects and environmentally pro-active expeditions, all within the scope of the AAC's charter. Polartec Challenge Grant

The Polartec Challenge is an adventure-grant program sponsored by Malden Mills (owners of Polartec). Winning projects can range from unique mountaineering expeditions to Arctic anthropology projects. Shipton / Tilman Grant

W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. established the annual Shipton / Tilman Grant in tribute to the spirit of adventure embodied in Eric Shipton's and Bill Tilman's endeavours. Small unencumbered teams of friends with bold and imaginative goals, who plan to accomplish these goals in a self-propelled, environmentally-sound, and cost-effective manner, are invited to apply. Mugs Stump Award

Black Diamond Inc., Patagonia, Ltd., W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. and Climbing Magazine established the Mugs Stump Award to support small teams tackling difficult climbs in the great mountains of the world. Climbs proposed should present an outstanding challenge in a first ascent, significant repeat, or first alpine-style ascent.
