The Alpine Club of Canada offers flexibility in its membership structure through a variety of section affiliation choices and options.

For example: an Adult membership, with Whistler section affiliation and a Canadian Alpine Journal (CAJ) upgrade costs $66.00 a year.

To calculate your personalized membership fee, simply work through the steps below.

* All dollar values shown are in Canadian dollars and include GST.


Fees by Section:

The following table outlines the current list of section fees by membership type, which are defined as follows:

Adult: individual aged 20 and over
Family: 1 or 2 adults plus children 19 and under, all living at the same address
Youth: individuals 19 and under

Please note that the section fees for Vancouver Island, Vancouver and Prince George include a $15.00 fee for membership in the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia.

A portion of your membership fees go to the National Club to provide you with a variety of services detailed in the membership benefits section. They are also used to support other National projects such as Mountain Culture & Publications, Leadership Development, Funds/Grants/Awards and more.

Additional Section Affiliations: If you wish to join more than one Section, only the additional Section's affilation rate (Adult, Family or Youth) will be added to your total. The National office portion will not be included twice.

If you live outside of Canada, add a postage surcharge.

For those living outside of Canada, a $7.00 postage surcharge is required to offset the additional cost of mailing the newsletter, The Gazette, three times/year.

Canadian Alpine Journal option:

You will receive the annual CAJ in the mail with your Summer Gazette.

If you live outside of Canada, add another postage surcharge for the CAJ.

If you live outside of Canada and you choose to subscribe to the Canadian Alpine Journal as an upgrade to your membership, an $8.00 postage surcharge is required to offset the additional cost of mailing the Canadian Alpine Journal to you.

Huts Upgrade option:

Allows Facilities user to benefit from lower pricing. With this upgrade it is possible to get a $10 per bed night discount for the Upgrade holder, usually the Upgrade pays for itself after two visits to our Facilities.


Second Year Membership:

Once you have the total amount of a one year membership, you may choose to add a second year's membership for $2.00 less than the one year total.

If you wish to join The Alpine Club of Canada, you may complete the online application, print the application and fax or mail it, or for further information on membership contact Sheila Churchill, Office Manager, at the National Office at ext. 108
