How do I join? |
|||||||||||||||||||||
Many new members' first experience with the Alpine Club of Canada is at a local section meeting or on an organized weekend trip at the section level. Some sections allow anyone interested in joining the club to participate in one or two organized trips prior to joining as a way of finding out more about the Club and its members. Most regional sections provide access to professional training in all aspects of mountaineering and climbing. As a result, joining the Club to access these often-subsidized courses is also a good introduction to the benefits of club membership. Another membership option is to join the Competition D'Escalade Canada (CEC). The CEC is the governing body for competition climbing in Canada. The CEC is supported by the ACC and is run by volunteers from across the country. The CEC comprises the Open and Youth Divisions for UIAA Climbing-format competition and is the only sanctioning body for Canada recognized by the UIAA's International Council for Competition Climbing (ICC). Online membership application. Many new members also join the national club in order to attend one of the summer and winter camps provided at the national level, or to benefit from reduced membership rates at our backcountry facilities in the Canadian Rockies.. Once you're ready to join, first review the membership options to determine what membership may best suit your needs. Then, either go to our online membership form or print the application form and submit it to the national office in Canmore. Voila! Welcome to the Alpine Club of Canada!
