The Prince George Section is located in the heart of British Columbia, almost geographically the middle, and runs trips in the Coast, Cariboo, Rocky and Columbia Mountain Ranges.  As a section we are active in the summer with camps and trips.  However, the majority of our trips take place in the winter, ranging from overnight trips on skis to some winter mountaineering, but by far the majority of the time is spent skiing.

We have been working towards keeping access open for many of the local backcountry areas, as well as looking at the many environmental concerns facing our section in the coming future.  Many of our members have strong environmental values and are committed to working on issues at the local and national level.  We provide seminars to help increase the skill and knowledge of our members.

Additionally, all members of the Prince George Section are automatically members of the newly formed Bulkley Skeena Chapter of the Prince George Section. This chapter offers a full schedule of summer and winter trips and courses in their unique corner of North Western British Columbia, which extends west to the Queen Charlotte Islands and north to the Yukon. The Chapter also organizes slide shows and invites international speakers / authors.

Looking back on the short history of our section, we have grown to have a strong healthy membership providing a unique opportunity for the residents of northern British Columbia.  When we look to the future, we see many opportunities for us to grow and provide more services to those members of the club living in northern British Columbia.
