Website: www.accrockymtn.ca Newsletter: The Blizzard The Rocky Mountain Section enjoys a home close to one of the most spectacular playgrounds in the world - the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Originally formed as the Banff Section, the name was changed in 1989 to better reflect the locale of its members. Our large membership (nearly 800) is a diverse assortment of local and international hikers, climbers, ice climbers, snowshoers, and skiiers. Our Trips Committee works hard each season to bring a new slate of exciting trips that offer a full range of opportunities for both members and visitors to get that Rocky Mountain experience no matter what their field of interest or level of expertise. The Rocky Mountain Section also prides itself on an exceptionally high level of volunteer activity that drives our programs, courses and leadership projects. We are also ardent supporters of national ACC programmes. An example is the Personal Skills Development Initiative that continues to encourage our membership to discover new opportunities for personal growth that in turn enriches the fabric of our Section. Usually held on the first Tuesday of each month, the Rocky Mountain Section offers a monthly meeting that includes taking care of business but is more about getting together and sharing our experiences and fellowship. Visit our website at www.accrockymtn.ca for our next upcoming meeting or social, or check out our trips schedule and come join us for your very own Rocky Mountain experience. |
