Website: accwhistler.ca The Whistler Section is located in the rugged Coast Mountains of British Columbia. These mountains are steep, big and uncrowded. The valleys are heavily forested and the alpine area is heavily glaciated. The summer hiking is spectacular and filled with a large variety of beautiful alpine flowers. The granite rock from Squamish to Lillooet is world class. The snow is deep and plentiful from November to July. The ski touring offers excellent descents like Macbeth Glacier to Fitzsimmons Creek of 3000+ vertical feet of pure glacier powder. We love to ski in this section, and if you want to test your deep powder skiing skills or white-out navigation skills, this is the place. The winter ice climbing is good if you know where to look. We are mountain people and the section is very active. Last year we offered over 100 trips to the section members. Trips are for all ability levels from introductory courses to advanced. Trips vary in length from 1 day to 14 days and the objectives of these trips are to have fun, learn and respect the mountains. Come join the Whistler Section and experience the fun!
