The Kokanee Glacier Powder Camp is part of the ACC's annual Powder Program which is sponsored by our partner Smartwool. Smartwool's support allows us to keep costs of our Powder Program camps and courses low as well as provide Smartwool product to all of the program's participants. We thank them for their support.

The Kootenays are world-famous for amazing powder, and Kokanee Glacier Cabin is the primary hut-based ski destination to explore the glades, glaciers and summits in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. The Kokanee Powder Camp will run from February 17th-24th. It will be led by Conrad Janzen.

Camp Itinerary

7 day helicopter-accessed camp. Itineray TBD.

Gear, Food, Lodging

Included:

  • Accommodation at Kokanee Glacier Cabin for the week
  • Helicopter transport to and from the hut
  • All meals, beginning with dinner on Day 1 and ending with lunch on Day 8
  • Guiding by ACMG-certified guides throughout the camp
  • All group gear

Participants must provide:

  • Transportation to/from staging area (participants will be expected to use their own vehicles to carpool)
  • Lunch on day 1, Dinner on day 8
  • Personal gear (see equipment list in Info Pack)

    Conrad Janzen

    Conrad is an ACMG Mountain Guide based in Banff, Alberta. He has been passionately engaged in skiing and climbing adventures throughout North America and Europe for the past 20 years and has been fortunate to share many of these experiences with others as a mountain guide. He has been leading mountain adventures with the Alpine Club of Canada since 2002 when he first guided at the Fairy Meadow Hut.

    Currently Conrad mixes his time working as an independent Mountain Guide and as a Visitor Safety Specialist with Parks Canada. His favorite pastime is skiing and he is very excited to return to one of the best places to ski in Canada, Fairy Meadow!
