Avalanche Skills Training Level 1

Canada’s first step in recreational avalanche training.

Proper education is key to safety in the backcountry. This 2-day course introduces the basics of avalanche science, and gives students a framework from which to make decisions in the field, all with the goal of coming home safe at the end of their winter excursions.

Avalanche Skills Training Level 2

Head Further into the Backcountry with Canada’s Intermediate Level Recreational Avalanche Training 2.

Combining classroom and field sessions, participants should expect to be fully involved in the day to day decision making on this course, with the support and feedback of your guides. Our curriculum is based on nationally standardized material from the Avalanche Canada.

We take it a step further and specifically focus on delivering a program to our students that is relevant to the current trends in free-skiing, split-boarding and technical alpine and ice climbing in avalanche terrain.

Learn to Backcountry Ski

Get off the beaten track to see the world from a different perspective.

This camp is designed for true backcountry areas, not utilizing power assisted access (slackcountry). This is not an Avalanche Safety Training course, but is designed to introduce people to the world of backcountry gear, travel and skiing. Critical decisions need to be made before you head out and while out. This camp will provide you with the right questions to ask and the ability to answer them.
