Learn to Lead: Sport Climbing

Fast-track your lead climbing on bolted sport routes with a fully-certified ACMG rock guide.

Are you an indoor climber wanting to transition to outdoors but intimated by the risks and required skills? Are you comfortable climbing on top rope but lacking the confidence to start leading sport routes independently? Whether or not you have been climbing inside or outside, this course will teach you the basics and give you the confidence to start sport climbing on your own. Learn to Lead will focus on all the required skills to make you safe.

Our experienced guide will take you through basic to advanced techniques that will give you the knowledge and confidence to head out on your own sport climbing. Climb 5.5? Climb 5.13? Doesn’t matter, this course will focus on skills development rather than grade of climb. This will allow all participants to learn on equal footing.

Surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, we have this playground at our door step. Why not take advantage of it? Classes may range anywhere from front range crags in K-Country further back to the Lake Louise area. The climbing areas will be determined by your guide(s) based on a number of factors i.e. weather, distance, group size and dynamics. Come join the ACC and expand your horizons.
