Tak Ogasawara is a skilled mountaineer with extensive experience
climbing mountains on Vancouver Island and in Japan. Tak’s contributions
and service to the Vancouver Island Section are particularly
significant when he leads and participates in section trips. He is
highly respected for his wise and tactful leadership. He leads by quiet
and modest example, realistically choosing appropriate climbs and number
of participants, thereby ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for
all. Tak is an inspirational role model to all for his courage and
determination in the face of adversity.
Tak Ogasawara was awarded the Alpine Club of Canada’s Don Forest Service Award in 2012.
