Ski Week Lotteries – Kokanee Glacier Cabin

About Kokanee Glacier Ski Weeks

  • Traveling in the Kokanee Glacier Park backcountry area in winter is recommended only for advanced-intermediate and expert skiers with backcountry experience.
  • Rates: $19,825 for a whole cabin booking, including return flights, 7 nights accommodation, and taxes. Travel days are Saturdays with departures from Nelson, BC.
  • The maximum hut capacity of Kokanee Glacier Cabin is 13 guests.
  • Huts are booked on an exclusive, whole hut, basis. Capacities, group compositions, number of users, or vaccination requirements could vary due to provincial restriction or for any reason.
  • The maximum weight for all items (other than people) is 100 lbs per person. All baggage will be weighed and your group may be asked to leave gear behind if your group is over the weight limit. Your group will be charged for additional helicopter flights that are required due to excessive weight or bulk.
  • It is not permitted to operate an advertised commercial venture within Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. Individuals may hire professional guides for their trips, but guides may not book and resell places at the hut.

Lottery - General Guidelines for Winter 2023/24 bookings

  • The only way to enter the lotteries is to use the online system which will open on April 18, 2023.
  • Lottery applications are accepted only for the weeks which are shown during the application process, there may be additional weeks added during the lottery application period.
  • Lottery application fee is $20 for ACC members and non-members.
  • A winner for each week will be selected on May 31, 2023.
  • Winners and runners-up will be notified as per the timetable below.
  • Once reserved, a ski-week trip date may not be changed, deferred or transferred to another person. All payments must be received according to the payment schedule, failure to make a payment will result in the forfeiture of the reservation. All payments once made are non-refundable.

Lottery Dates and Times - Ski Weeks, 2023/24 Winter Season

Winter 2023/24 lottery dates and times:

  • The lottery opens for applications on April 18, 2022 and closes at midnight MDT on May 30, 2023.
  • All winners for each week of the lottery will be contacted by June 1, 2023. Please do not contact the ACC to see if you’ve won.
  • If the winner accepts the week, their deposit must be received by June 15, 2023.
  • Weeks that are declined by the lottery winners will be made available to that week’s first runners-up on June 16, 2023.

Ski Week Payment

  • When your booking is confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
  • Final payment is due 90 days prior to trip departure.
  • Post-dated cheques will be accepted for final payments if arrangements are made at time of booking.
  • The ACC reserves the right to cancel bookings without notice in the case of late payments.
  • All payments are to be made in one payment. We do not accept partial payments.
  • Pricing is subject to change without notice.

Ski Week Cancellations

  • All payments for ski weeks are 100% non-refundable once processed.
  • The ACC does not refund or discount any ski week bookings due to weather, flight delays or other situations beyond our control.
  • The Alpine Club of Canada reserves the right to cancel any trip.
  • Dates are non-transferable.

Travel Insurance

  • The Alpine Club of Canada strongly recommends Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance for ski week bookings.
  • The ACC sells Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Insurance through TuGo that provides coverage for a variety of unexpected travel expenses.
